Prosper UMC offers numerous opportunities for Bible study, personal spiritual growth, education, fellowship, service, mission work, and community outreach. We invite you to become a part of our church family! The following is a listing of regular activities underway at Prosper UMC. Other short-term small groups are formed throughout the year and advertised throughout the website.
Sunday Night Adult Bible Study
Sundays, 5-6:00pm, in Fellowship Hall
This group is currently studying Psalms. Newcomers are welcome to join at any time.

Tuesday Evening Women’s Bible Study
Tuesdays, 7:00pm, location TBD
This group is currently wrapping up a study on Ruth. September 4 we will begin a a 5-week study on a book called “Everybody Always” by Bob Goff. Members are responsible for buying their own book.

Page Turners Women’s Bible Study
Wednesdays at 5:30pm, room E4
Time is changing to 6:00pm in September – date TBD.
The current study is “Grace, Not Perfection” by Emily Ley.
The new fall study will be “Keep It Shut” by Karen Ehman. This is a biblical disussion of what to say, how to say it, and when to say nothing at all. This study will typically wrap up before the holidays. Led by Marilyn Cintron. Members are responsible for buying their own book.
True Grit Men’s Bible Study
Wednesdays beginning August 22, 11:45am
The fall session returns August 22, and we will begin a study on Romans.
The group meets for lunch at Rudy’s in Frisco.

Sunday School Classes

Description: For ages 25-40, single or married adults. We study the Bible to look for real-life applications.
We are currently studying Adam Hamilton’s “Making Sense of the Bible.” The next study will be the Messenger International’s “Called” course.

GIFT (Growing In Faith Together)
Location: Basement Hall
Time: 9:45 – 10:45am
Description: A class for adults ages 40-70, some with kids at home and others with empty nests. We rotate between study series and Bible-based studies.
We are currently studying “101 Great Topics of the Bible.” This is mostly a discussion-based class, and no advanced preparation is needed. Led by Chuck & Cindy Stuber.

Description: This is a class of mature Christians striving for perfection in following Christ. This fall we will follow “Adult Bible Studies” available through Cokesbury. We enjoy this series as it covers the entire Bible and uses a variety of writers to provide different perspectives.

Service and Community Outreach
Bethlehem Place Community Food Pantry
Located on the church property, Bethlehem Place opens weekly to offer food and various goods to the Prosper community. Special programs throughout the year are also supported by church volunteers and donations, including the Thanksgiving Basket distribution and Angel Tree.

Feed My Sheep
A small group ministry focused on building relationships with the clients of Bethlehem Place and others in the community by hosting a monthly picnic with good food and fellowship for the adults and fun games and crafts for the children that attend.

United Methodist Women (UMW)
A community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. This group of Christian women, with their many gifts, is unified by one spirit to participate in God’s mission in all areas of life. All women are invited to attend this group and enjoy a great time together of fellowship and learning. The local unit meets the first Monday of each month at 7:00pm. New members are always welcome. Prosper 50 is a group of adults ages 50 and older who meet monthly for food, fellowship, and a variety of activities. All community members ages 50 and older are welcome to attend Prosper 50 meetings. Prosper 50 is held the 4th Tuesday of every month, except the summer months (June, July, August) and December at the First Baptist Church in Prosper. The meal is “pot luck” where members provide meat, side dishes, dessert, and beverages. The program is at 11:00AM and lunch is served at noon. Dues are 50 cents per person when you join.
There is a monthly Senior Dinner held the 2nd Thursday of every month at various local churches. Your presence is all that’s required!
