There are moments in our lives that are special and memorable because they mark a change in our life that has major implications. Sometimes these are negative or mournful moments – the loss of a loved one, a move from a treasured city or house. Other moments, though, are positive and should be celebrated – graduation, the birth of a child, a wedding.
The evening of Monday, June 6th, in a Service of Ordination and Commissioning, Patrick Littlefield will celebrate a memorable moment of his own. The Board of Ordained Ministry has recommended him, and I fully expect him to be approved by the Clergy Covenant. Then on Monday night the Bishop will commission Patrick as a Provisional Elder which will officially bring him into the clergy covenant of the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church!
I hope you will consider attending this amazing worship service. Every year the music is extraordinary, the preaching is dynamic and this year, we can stand in support of Patrick as he is commissioned. The service will be held at St. Andrew UMC (5801 W. Plano Parkway, Plano) at 7:00PM. Plan to arrive early as it fills up quickly. Let’s be a part of this moment with Patrick!
