Vail Keck-Rowland joined Prosper UMC in February 2016. A California native, Vail has nearly twenty years of experience working for church, community, children’s, college, university, and professional choirs and orchestras. An active clinician, guest conductor, and music educator, Vail has served as Director of Music Ministries at both large and small churches in the California Bay Area, and has directed choral and orchestral ensembles at the University of Oklahoma, UC Santa Cruz, and Moorpark College (Moorpark, CA), where she oversaw a large choral program and taught numerous courses as the Director of Choral Activities. Vail earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree (choral conducting) from UC Santa Cruz, and is completing her doctoral degree in choral conducting from the University of Oklahoma. She holds memberships in the American Choral Director’s Association, Texas Choral Director’s Association, National Association for Music Education, and The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts.
Motivated by the warmth and vitality of this congregation, inspired by the integration of music and arts, and congregational participation in worship, Vail seeks to know and serve the wealth and diversity of talent represented by the Prosper UMC family.
