Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.
Read: James 4:4-10
James is holding nothing back in this passage. He challenges his readers to examine their relationship with the world and with God. This also serves as a reminder for finding a good balance of living our lives by drawing closer to him. Our spiritual journey is a daily practice where we are called to set aside time to be in prayer, reading scripture, and worship of God.
Be Still: Think of ways to practice and develop a habit of gratitude, recognizing and thanking God for the blessings, big and small, in your life. Cultivating gratitude is part of the spiritual journey that begins with drawing near to God. Drawing closer to God requires consistency, intentionality, and a genuine desire to know God more intimately.
Prayer: God of love, help me be the person who offers love and gratitude to others while living in the world each day. May I treat others with the same grace and mercy you extend to me, as I draw closer to you, and knowing your love follows me wherever I go. Amen
