Read: 1 Peter 2: 4-10
Peter’s letter speaks about Jesus as the living stone and believers as living stones being built into a spiritual house. As followers of Christ, we acknowledge our identity in Christ, and with this knowledge, we are called to live out our faith in a way that shines light on our love for God. To strive to reflect Christ’s love, compassion, humility, forgiveness, toward others.
Be still: What are the ways you strive to reflect Christ’s love in a broken world? If you are able today, send a note of gratitude thanking someone for something they’ve helped you with in your life. Consider all the ways God shines love on you.
Prayer: Gracious God, I realize there are days when I fall short each day. But I am grateful. I find comfort in knowing you know my heart’s desire even when I stumble. Help me to be attentive to the motives behind my actions on this day. Give me a heart for living and loving you. May I do all things not seeking to be applauded but simply to allow your love and light to flow forth as a gift toward me and others. Amen
