Read: Numbers 12:1-9
This story of Moses is a familiar story to anyone who has siblings. Moses is facing unwelcome criticism from his own siblings, Miriam, and Aaron. Despite their jealousy and complaints, Moses remained humble and trusted in God’s appointed role for him. This passage is a healthy reminder for us to hold fast even when others doubt or oppose us, we must stay focused on God’s calling and seek his guidance, especially when doubt and discouragement creep in.
Be Still: If you are reading this devotional, then you’ve made the decision to trust and seek God’s guidance when facing criticism from others. Take time to give thanks to God for the supportive community that surrounds you, for the purpose of offering encouragement and wisdom, as together, you work toward a greater good.
Prayer: Gracious God, I come before you today with humble heart, just as Moses did when he faced opposition and criticism. Help me to trust in your guidance for my life, even when others doubt or oppose me. Grant me the strength to respond with strength and love and forgiveness, and the wisdom to seek your guidance above all else. May I find comfort in knowing that you are with me, guiding me through every challenge. Amen.
