Friday, November 3, 2023:
Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.
Read: Joshua 2:1-14 and 2 Peter 2:1-3
The Israelites prepared to take the Promised Land but first sent spies to search out the truth about the land. They encountered Rahab, who had heard of God and what He had done for His people. Rahab chose to follow God and risked her life to help the Israelites to victory.
Be still and Reflect: What is true about the “land” God has given you to take? Who can help you? Who or what might try to lead you astray or take your eyes off of Christ?
Pray: Supreme Lord, thank you for bringing me through another week, another month, another year. It’s been full and challenging, and the journey is not yet over.
Thank you for being the loving God who uses everything and every encounter before me to work toward the fulfillment of Your plans and purposes. As the days ahead unfold, Lord,
- Protect me from anything or anyone who seek to harm me or Your followers.
- Give me rest and strengthen me when I grow weary.
- Help me to discern the right way to go when presented with choices or tempted with self-indulging desires.
- Empower me with Your Holy Spirit to think wisely, speak boldly, work confidently, and trust You completely.
By the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.
