Tuesday, November 14, 2023:
Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.
Read: 1 Thessalonians 3:6-12
Knowing the Thessalonians would experience persecution for following the good news of Christ as well as temptation to return to their old ways, Paul sent Timothy to encourage them to stand firm. Hearing from Timothy of the Thessalonians’ steadfastness in the gospel brought Paul joy in knowing the seeds he planted continued to grow and mature.
Be still and Reflect: As followers of Christ, we need to encourage one another through the pressures of life. Who has helped you to grow and mature in faith? How can you reach out today by text, phone, or a handwritten note to let them know what their teaching or ministry has meant to you?
Pray: Father-God, thank You for those who brought me to know and understand the depths of Your love and purposes through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for my pastors, teachers, and leaders who help me to mature in faith and service. And thank You for those who minister to me in a time of need. Help me, Lord, to find the words and ways to express my joy and appreciation for their presence in my life, such that they feel supported and encouraged to carry on. Amen.
