Friday, December 1, 2023:
Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.
Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:12
Paul does not allow the Thessalonians, nor us, to rest on our laurels or accomplishments to date. While acknowledging and commending them for living a life pleasing to God and loving all others, he urges the Thessalonians to do so even more. Paul encourages them to continue growing in Faith, Love, and Hope. God may be pleased with how far we’ve come in our discipleship journey, but He never wants us to stop short of realizing the fully abundant life for which He created us.
Be still and Reflect: In quiet time with the Lord, acknowledge and feel God’s pleasure in the ways you currently live a Christ-like life. Then consider how to challenge yourself to grow in that Christ-likeness even more. What one intentional, faith-filled step can you take today to make it so?
Pray: O, Holy God, I’m so deeply grateful for Your grace, love, and steadfast faithfulness in my life. I want to live a life pleasing to You. Show me and empower me to do so even more in how I give of my time, talents, and treasure. Help me to live as a witness that draws others to You. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
