Pause. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.

April 16, 2024.
Read: Zechariah 10:1

Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime; it is the LORD who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.

I like to read a lot. I also listen to books on audible and a variety of podcasts because both platforms provide a plethora of information that entertain me on my daily commute to Prosper. This past week, however, I read something that has stuck with me for a while now, and I would like to share it with you. The words in the poem are words we have all used to describe the change of seasons in our lives, but for whatever reason, reading them in this format helped me to look inward at my own life and the season I am living, especially as I prepare for entering my sixtieth year of life. The following words written by Todd Nesloney are a beautiful reminder of the seasons in life.

Blooming

To bloom is to grow.

To begin anew.

To recover.

To start fresh.

To explore.

We bloom in private.

We can bloom in several different ways all at the same time.

Blooming signifies something new.

A new season, a change.

Welcome the bloom.

We all need to grow to bloom into new and improved versions of ourselves.

Each new day is in itself a new opportunity to bloom.

To bloom is to hope.

To bloom is to reconstruct.

I hope you choose to sit with these words for a while today to embrace this new season and the change it brings to your life. May you let go of what is stagnant and mundane to reach for new adventures and new possibilities for you!

Prayer: God, you remind us in scripture to forget the former things; to not dwell on the past. For you are doing a new thing! All things spring up for us to perceive because you are making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland – and for this, we give thanks. Amen.

Together,
We are held, in Christ’s love.
