Read: 2 Corinthians 3:18  Transformation to Glory

18 All of us are looking with unveiled faces at the glory of the Lord
as if we were looking in a mirror.
We are being transformed into that same image from
one degree of glory to the next degree of glory.
This comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18, CEB

I used to have a sign like this on my desk as a reminder: I am, and we are all a work in progress.

Today’s scripture reminds us of the profound transformation that occurs when we turn our hearts towards God and follow Christ. With the veil removed, we become mirrors, called to reflect God’s radiant character to the world. And as we reflect His glory, something miraculous happens. Day by day, moment by moment, the Spirit works within us, shaping us into the likeness of Christ.

This transformation, though, is not instantaneous but rather a journey of becoming. Hence, the need for patience with ourselves and others. Our stories are still being written, our souls still unfolding. But in this journey, we find and will fulfill our true identity and purpose – to shine forth the glory of God in all we do.

Reflect: Reflect on a time when you felt the veil of misunderstanding or confusion lifted in your relationship with God. How did this newfound clarity and freedom transform your identity and purpose?

Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for the freedom found in Your presence. As I reflect on Your Word, help me be patient and open to the transformative power of Your Spirit at work within me. Lift the veils of doubt and fear that can separate me from You. Guide me on this journey of becoming more like You, that I may increasingly reflect Your glory with my family, friends, and neighbors, and at my work. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

By His Grace,
Gloria
