Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.

Read: Joshua 3:1-4, ESV

Then Joshua rose early in the morning and they set out from Shittim. And they came to the Jordan, he and all the people of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over. At the end of three days the officers went through the camp and commanded the people, “As soon as you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God being carried by the Levitical priests, then you shall set out from your place and follow it. Yet there shall be a distance between you and it, about 2,000 cubits[a] in length. Do not come near it, in order that you may know the way you shall go, for you have not passed this way before.”

Pray:
O Holy and Loving God, We start this new day with no idea of where it will take us. Oh, we have our goals, and we have our schedules. But we don’t know what interruptions, detours, or new challenges might insert themselves into our day.

So, Lord, we ask that however each hour unfolds, reveal to us Your presence and Your will in it. Show us how we need to align – or realign – our thoughts, behavior, and direction to follow You and Your holy Word. We entrust our plans to You and Your purposes. Where You lead, we want to follow. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
