Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.

Read: Philippians 1:3-14

Paul writes from prison to the Philippians to thank them for their good work in partnering with God to use their gifts and to witness in the community. While they may doubt his impact while imprisoned, Paul also assures them that even difficult circumstances can be used to open the door for sharing the message of Jesus Christ with another.

Paul also recognizes that he and the Philippians, like all of us, are a work in progress. He prays for the Philippians to continue growing in Christian love, understanding, and insight, thus becoming increasingly fruitful.

Be still and Reflect: How are you growing in Christian love, understanding, and insight? Where in your current circumstances or as a part of your normal activities might God open the door for you to share the light of Christ with another?

Pray: God of grace, Thank You for Your patience and persistence in helping me and Your church, to grow as faithful followers. We know we are a work in progress. Some days we get it right the first time. Yet often hold back because we doubt our potential to make a difference or we head in the wrong direction and need to course correct.

Enable us to overcome our doubts.  Increase our trust that You, who began a good work in us as individuals and Prosper United Methodist Church, will continue it and one day carry it to completion. In the name of Your Son Jesus and for Your glory. Amen.
