Wednesday, November 15, 2023:
Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.
Read: Matthew 24:29-35
Although no one knows when, Christ’s return will be swift and sudden. And when he does, Jesus says that his second coming will be obvious to everyone and unmistakable. We won’t have to ask anyone if he came; we will know he has come again. This is the hope from which we can draw strength to stand and endure all pressures and difficulties that come our way.
Be still and Reflect: Close your eyes and imagine for a moment what the day of Christ’s return will look, sound, and feel like. How does reading and reflecting on Christ’s second coming renew and strengthen the hope in you for today?
Pray: Heavenly Father, whose words never pass away or come back empty, thank You for Your Son Jesus who is the Living Word. Thank You for Your promises that stand forever. Pour Your Spirit out upon me. Remind me that no matter what trials and difficulties I face, no matter what wars break out, or tragedies strike, I can hold fast to Your truths and the hope of Christ to come. Amen.
