Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.
Read: Hebrews 1:1-14
God’s eternal and full revelation of Himself came through His Son. Jesus was “stamped” with God’s nature, according to Eugene Peterson’s The Message, meaning he embodied the image of God’s will, authority, and character. He alone is superior to everyone and everything. Therefore, we cannot base our faith on “Jesus and _______” (you fill in the blank). Only Jesus can be the sole Lord of our life, both in times of joys and in times of troubles. Only Jesus will make everything right according to God’s eternal purpose and plan.
Be still and Reflect: If Jesus is to be the supreme Lord of your life, then…Pray: Glorious God, what a marvelous gift You gave in Your Son, Jesus. Help me today to keep my eyes fixed on him as Lord and Leader over all I think, feel, and do. Equip me and strengthen me to run with perseverance the race You set before me, so that in the end, I will hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” In the name of Jesus Christ whose image I seek to reflect, Amen.
