Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray.
Read: Revelation 11: 15b

Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying,
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign forever and ever.”

We do not typically spend a lot of time in the book of Revelation, at least I know I do not. The crazy thing is during my entire time in seminary, I heard a few lectures, sermons, and a brief reference to Revelation as they relate to some much worry over “end-time.” I never questioned why more time was not spent on this book – I am sure an entire year is needed to uncover the mystery of John’s writing. I know it is a confusing book to read and understand for many because there is a lot of speculation about its meaning.

However, this verse alone reveals the ultimate triumph of God’s kingdom over all earthly powers. It reminds us of the wonder and awe of God’s sovereignty and the eternal reign of Christ. How does this verse speak to you personally? Celebrate the beauty and wonder found in these pages – even if they are confusing!

Prayer: Gracious God, as we read these words found in Revelation today, we ask that you open our hearts and minds to understand its meaning and significance. May we receive the wisdom and discernment to apply its truths to our lives. Amen.
