Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.

Read: Galatians 5:16-26  The Expression of Peace

…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control..
(Galatians 5:22-23 NRSVUE)

The fruit of the Spirit is a collective expression of the character of God, produced in the lives of believers through the Holy Spirit’s work. Just as we know an apple tree by the fruit on its limbs, this passage says we can know those who are letting the Holy Spirit of Christ reign in their life by the “fruit” we see produced in their thoughts, actions, and attitudes.

Peace is a crucial aspect of the fruit of the Spirit, influencing and interconnecting with the other attributes: True love seeks the well-being and harmony with others, thus fostering an environment where peace can thrive. Peace that comes from our relationship with God brings an abiding inner joy that transcends circumstances.

Peace is not just the absence of conflict but a holistic sense of well-being, harmony, and completeness which comes from being reconciled with God and others. That deep peace enables us to endure with patience, trusting in God’s timing and providence. It helps us to manifest kindness and generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Be still and Reflect: In what areas of your life do you see evidence of the fruit of the Spirit? Where do you sense a need for greater dependence on the Holy Spirit to produce His fruit in you?

Pray: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit, who enables us to live a life that reflects your character. Help us to walk in step with the Spirit, surrendering our desires and yielding to His transformative work. May the fruit of the Spirit be evident in our lives, pointing others to your love and grace. Convict us when we fall into the works of the flesh and guide us back to the path of righteousness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

By His Grace,
Gloria
