Known and Loved
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.”
Jeremiah 1:5

We have all in one way or another experienced a moment or two in life where our actions or words have surprised us. These instances reveal that we might not know ourselves as well as we think. In our faith journey, this realization can be both humbling and enlightening because it reminds us of our human limitations and the depth of God’s understanding and love for us.

God’s words to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you,” are a powerful reminder of how God knows intricacy of our lives. God knows our strengths, our weaknesses, our fears and our dreams. There truly is nothing that is hidden from God. This truth offers immense comfort, especially when we feel misunderstood.

Pause: Sit before God today acknowledging the parts of yourself you do not fully understand. Then take a moment to reflect on the times you have surprised yourself. Offer these moments in prayer, asking for God’s wisdom and understanding.

Prayer: Thank you, God, for knowing me completely and loving me unconditionally. Help me to trust your perfect knowledge of all that I am. May I find peace in the assurance in my life and that you are guiding me every step of the way. Amen.

Together,
we are held,
in Christ’s love.
