Easter Eggstravaganza
April 6 3:00 - 5:00 pm
On Palm Sunday, we remember the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, an event described in each of the four Gospels.
Children will participate in a palm processional, waving palm branches, which symbolize victory and peace. The use of palms recalls the crowd that welcomed Jesus with shouts of “Hosanna!” as he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, fulfilling an Old Testament prophecy (specifically from Zechariah 9:9).
The Maundy Thursday service is a meaningful and reflective worship experience that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with His disciples. The name “Maundy” comes from the Latin word “mandatum,” which means “command,” referring to Jesus’ commandment to love one another.
The celebration of Holy Communion is central to the Maundy Thursday service. The bread and wine (or grape juice) are shared as a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice and the new covenant established through His death.
At the end of the service, the altar is stripped bare. This act signifies the somber tone of the events leading to Good Friday and the preparation for Easter.
The Good Friday service is a solemn and reflective gathering that commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
This service will include readings from the Gospels that recount the events leading up to and including the crucifixion of Jesus.
The Easter sunrise service takes place on the East Garden just as the sun begins to rise, which symbolizes the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This service will include Holy Communion and the opportunity to participate in adding fresh flowers to the cross, reinforcing the connection between the resurrection and the promise of eternal life.
Easter Sunday services are vibrant and meaningful celebrations, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Music in these services will be enhanced by a brass quintet.
