In person classes taught in English to help prepare to pass the US citizenship test and interview in English. 

Open to adults 18 years & over

• Meets Tuesdays, 6:30-8pm
• Starts Sept. 29th
• Books: $20
• Childcare available for kids 10 years & under

Opportunities to Serve

This awesome ministry can't happen without the support of you, the church. Group leaders and assistants are always needed. No experience or second language is needed, just a heart to serve.

ESL has very small class sizes, 1-4 students. So the volunteers work in small groups. The work is personal and relational. Having so many classes lets us tailor the class to the students’ needs and level.

Mission

We were created to be in faithful relationship with God and in loving community with each other. Since communication and language are essential to living in community, the English as a Second Language ministry at Prosper United Methodist Church will promote, encourage, and nurture listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English.

Program Information

Level 1 (Beginner)
Students with little or no knowledge and use of the English language.

Level 2 (Advanced Beginner)
Students with some knowledge and use of the English language, but limited listening, speaking, and reading skills.

Level 3 (Intermediate)
Students with a working knowledge and use of listening, speaking, and reading skills, but limited writing skills in English.

Level 4 (Advanced Intermediate)
Students with a working knowledge and use of listening, speaking, and reading skills. More grammar concepts and conversation than level 3.
