Curriculum
The goal of the school curriculum is to provide each child with meaningful learning opportunities to attain age-appropriate skills. The curriculum is based on a thematic framework, employing the Place and Play Based Learning Style, where students learn through creating their own meanings in spaces specifically designed for those opportunities. Learning materials and activities are organized around specific age-appropriate units, with play as a central component of the curriculum and woven throughout each thematic unit. Through play, children attach meaning to the experiences provided within the classroom, while also acquiring developmental skills.
Programming is written by a designated curriculum director, with the input of the teaching staff. The content aligns to child development milestones and TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) guidelines for all students. All lead teachers hold undergraduate degrees at a minimum, representing experienced personnel with the appropriate area/content-specific certifications.
