Tuesday, November 28, 2023:
Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.
Read: Psalm 28
David’s psalm asks God to hear and respond to the cries of his suffering people. David’s faith in God’s justice and righteousness strengthened his confidence that God would act and deliver His people from evildoers.
Be still and Reflect: Pause for a moment and enter the Presence of God. Share with Him from your heart where or from what you seek deliverance. Release the anxieties to Him and receive His peace.
Pray: Lord, here I am again, desperate for You to hear my cries for help and those of all Your people. Sometimes my trust hangs on by a thread. Circumstances threaten to overwhelm me or cause me to fear.
Lord God, remind me that I can lean confidently into You for renewed strength. Remind me to receive Your peace and release my anxieties. Help me to take every limiting, negative, and anxiety-producing thought captive to Christ Jesus. Increase my confidence that You go before me and will confuse every enemy, internal or external, who seeks to crush me. It is Your battle. And so I receive Your joy and release my despair. As Your beloved, sealed by Your Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
