Ushers Needed!

November 4

Our church is growing, and we need to grow our team of usher volunteers.

Maybe you are thinking: “I want to usher but have never done it before. What does it entail?”

Well, if you can smile, say “hello,” and open and close doors, you are PERFECT for the team!

Need more detail, or not sold yet?

Description:

  • PUMC ushers are what some refer to as Sanctuary greeters. Our role is to stand just outside the Sanctuary doors to greet people and make them feel welcomed.
  • If needed, show them the coloring bags, the quiet room just off the Sanctuary entry, and point them to the nursery and the children’s Sunday school area across the Commons.
  • Close the doors before the service begins.
  • During the service record the head count.
  • Open the Sanctuary doors during the final hymn.
  • Secure the offering and place it in the “Offering” slot outside the Sanctuary.

For the 11AM service, we are looking for people that can volunteer for the 4th Sunday of the month. Or consider taking the 5th Sunday of the month – there are only two months left in the year with a 5th Sunday.

For the 8:30AM service, we have openings for EVERY SUNDAY.

And maybe you are NOT able to volunteer every month – NO PROBLEM – you can sign up for ANY week that works for you at either service!

Head to the PUMC Hospitality page,  scroll to the “Ushers” section and click the “Sign Up” button.
