Pause. Pray. Read. Be still. Write. Pray. Go about your day or turn in for the night.

Be still and Reflect: When we listen or read the daily news, this world can appear upside-down and chaotic. Governments can seem like a 3-ring circus. Human suffering and injustice abound. Quests to come out on top lead to cutting corners and gambling that we can leap tall buildings in a single bound.
But our God is a God of order. Consider how He first created the habitats – day vs. night, sky vs. water, and dry land with vegetation – before He created what went into these habitats – the stars, sun, and seasons, the birds and fish, and then the creatures that crawled and walked on the land.
Likewise, God declares the right order in human behavior through the law of His words and the Word, Jesus Christ. Following the words and the Word enlightens and transforms us with truth and righteousness.
Pray: Creator God, who pulled together the heavens and earth in perfect order, Your Word gives clear and perfect laws and principles that bring righteousness and allow justice for all.
Today let the words of my mouth, the meditations of my heart, and the actions in my work be pleasing and acceptable to You. Remind me to pause periodically, to take stock in the moment, and course correct as needed. Point me to aspects of Your creation and laws that can inform, inspire, or restore me so that I might bring all glory and honor to Your holy name. Through Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
