The theme for this week of Advent is Watch.
God called the prophet Micah in Israel to keep the people alert to His voice and alive to the hope they could find only in Him. Micah spoke in a world reduced to rubble and spiritual disorder to help rebuild and restore what their disobedience destroyed. He spoke to immerse the people once more into the Presence of God and His never-ending love and compassion for His people.
Be still and Reflect: How does Micah’s vison for peace compare to today’s world reality? Ask God where and how He desires to use you to bring healing where brokenness and division exist.
Pray: O, Compassionate God of Peace, I confess and seek to lay aside the self-centered ways and wants that pull me away from Your Presence and purposes. Instead, help me to stay alert and play my part where I am in Your restoration plan, so that one day all nations of the world will walk in harmony and bring glory to Your name. In the name of Jesus Christ, who modeled the Way for me. Amen.
